Privacy Policy

Brian's Playbook is a free educational site that helps parents lock down a kid's iPhone. It is operated by EchoTrail Ventures, Ltd. ("we," "us," or "the site"). This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We've kept it short and in plain English.
What we collect
- Your email address, when you ask us to send the checklist/PDF or sign up for updates. We use it to send you the guide and the occasional note when something changes that matters for your kid's phone.
- Your name and email, if you post a comment. The name (or display name) you choose appears publicly with your comment; your email does not appear publicly and is used only to manage comments and reply to you.
- Anything you send us through the contact or feedback form.
- Privacy-friendly analytics. We use Plausible Analytics, which is cookieless and does not collect personal information or track you across other sites. It tells us aggregate things, like which pages are popular.
- Anti-spam checks. Our forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to block bots, and Cloudflare may process limited technical data (such as your IP address) for that purpose.
We do not sell your information, we do not run advertising trackers, and we do not require an account.
How we use it
- To send you the guide/PDF and the updates you asked for.
- To publish and moderate comments.
- To respond to your messages.
- To understand, in aggregate, how the site is used so we can improve it.
About the PDF download
When you request the printable PDF, the copy we generate is watermarked with your email address. This is to discourage wide redistribution. It is tied to your request and is not shared with anyone else, and the generated copy is short-lived and deleted automatically.
Service providers we use
We rely on a few trusted services to run the site, and share only what they need to do their job:
- Amazon Web Services (AWS) — hosting and sending email.
- Plausible Analytics — privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics.
- Cloudflare — bot protection on our forms.
We do not sell or rent your data to anyone.
Affiliate links
Some links (for example, to NextDNS) are affiliate links. If you sign up through one, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. We only link to products we actually use and recommend, and we disclose it next to the link.
Your email choices
You can opt out of our emails at any time. Email us and we'll remove you right away.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you what we have about you, correct it, or delete it. Just email info@echotrail.io and we'll take care of it. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws like the GDPR or CCPA; email us and we'll honor them.
Children's privacy
This site is written for parents and other adults. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, email us and we'll delete it.
Data retention
We keep subscriber and comment data for as long as it is needed to run the site, or until you ask us to delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We'll update the "last updated" date above, and note any significant changes on the site.
