Welcome to Brian's Playbook, a site operated by EchoTrail Ventures, Ltd. ("we," "us," or "the site"). By using this site, you agree to these terms. We've kept them short and readable.
What this site is
Brian's Playbook is free educational content about setting up and locking down a kid's iPhone. It's the honest playbook one parent (with a security background) put together and shared to help other parents.
Not professional advice, and use at your own risk
The guides are general information, not professional, legal, or security advice for your specific situation. The steps involve things like erasing and reconfiguring a phone, which carry real risk. Back up your data first. You are responsible for what you do to your own (and your child's) devices, accounts, and data. We are not responsible for data loss, account lockouts, or anything else that results from following the guides. If you're not comfortable doing something, get help from someone who is.
No warranty
The site and its content are provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. Apple, iOS, and the third-party tools we describe change often, so we can't guarantee the steps are current, complete, or error-free at any given moment.

The guides reference third-party products (Apple Configurator, an MDM such as SimpleMDM, NextDNS, and others). We don't control them, and your use of them is governed by their own terms. If you post a comment or send feedback, keep it respectful, and don't post anything unlawful, harmful, or that shares a way to defeat a child's safety controls. We moderate comments and may edit or remove anything at our discretion. By posting, you give us permission to display and keep your comment on the site.

The original writing, guides, and design on this site belong to us. You're welcome to use them to help your own family. Please don't republish or sell them as your own.
